True Value started with the original owners Duane Taphorn and Elmer Friedman. In 1990, Duana Taphorn’s daughter Cindy purchased Elmer’s share of the business with her husband Doug. Cindy grew up working in the business and is still passionate about the work today. Continue reading below to learn more about our valuable team and all we do at True Value.

Who Makes Up Our True Value Team?

We have an incredibly knowledgeable, talented, and diverse staff here at True Value in Carroll. Our talented sales associate is Holly Alex. She enjoys doing all the displays in the store. She also loves giving advice when customers need help deciding on home décor or paint colors.

If you need help with your deliveries, some sales, or even installation or servicing of your appliances, Mark Kitt is your man. He calls himself the “True Value problem solver”. He helps with sales, takes care of deliveries (incoming and outgoing), and installs and services Frigidaire appliances.

If Mark isn’t available, Steve Ziegmann is. He is Mark’s right-hand man who also helps with electrical services.

Other employees include Debra Winter who helps with sales and incoming freight. Halie Jorgensen fills in on some weekends to help on the sales floor when needed. Doug Jorgensen also fills in with delivery help and sales.

As you can see, we are a tight-knit group. Our True Value store in Carroll has been family-owned since the beginning, and we want you to feel like part of that family. You will always get friendly, helpful service whether you enter the store or call us with questions.
